A Joyful Wedding
On Saturday 7 September 2024, Tim and I became husband and wife and had a joyful wedding. 💕
We started a conversation in January 2020, and in February, we met when Tim came to look over and buy the Shay logging locomotive my Dad had built.
Our conversation continued and step by step our lives wove together to hold our most important conversation at Abergynolwyn Station on the Talyllyn Steam Heritage Railway in Wales.
Loved ones gathered on Friday evening for a shared meal at the Ty'n Y Cornel Lake Hotel. The setting was wonderful and Tim and I were delighted to see those we love mix and get to know each other.
Saturday morning dawned and Emily, my daughter, and I headed off to get our hair done and Tim and our friends went for breakfast at Wharf Station. At noon we all gathered to travel on our wedding steam train from Wharf Station in Tywyn to Abergynolwyn Station where the lovely team at the Talyllyn Railway had decorated the cafe to create a chapel. All around us, loving conversations continued in the heritage coaches beautifully decorated with flowers and bunting.
Our registrars, Mai and Alma, were wonderful and the ceremony was conducted in Welsh and English. Emily gave me away, and Tim's best man, our lovely friend John, stood alongside us as we made promises and shared our special words. Loving energy flowed, alongside happy tears from us and our loved ones.
There was a poignant empty chair with a Reserved sign and a rose for those no longer here and those who could not be with us.
After a delicious buffet, we all climbed aboard our train to Wharf Station. There was singing and much laughter as we gently steamed through the Fathew Valley, part of the Snowdonia National Park. There was much love between everyone and our hearts soared as we watched those we care deeply about sharing conversations. Lovely people from both our lives, who we have met on our adventures across the world and who covered many thousands of miles so we could all be together.
At Wharf Station we shared a meal, followed the tradition of speeches and then forgot to cut the cake!
It was a magical day that will be held in our hearts forever and we are so grateful to everyone who flowed love and was a part of our wedding weekend.
Our loving conversation continues. 💕
